A composite view of Bristol from the mid-1950’s. In the top left corner is the Clifton Suspension Bridge; in the top right corner is part of Durdham Down. Middle left is Blaise Castle, now restored; middle centre are the City Centre Gardens, now totally revamped in 1999 as part of a Millennium Project; middle right is the West Front of Bristol Cathedral, still largely unaltered to this day. Bottom left is the entrance to Bristol Zoo, largely unaltered; bottom right is the Avon Gorge, once again, largely unaltered.
