Bristol in the New Millennium

A rather striking modern art ‘tree’ sculpture at the Cribb’s Causeway Shopping Mall, to the north-west of Bristol. At the end of each ‘branch’, the circular vanes are designed to rotate in the breeze, creating a startling effect. This shopping mall was constructed in the mid-1990’s to alleviate the traffic congestion around the Broadmead Shopping Centre in central Bristol. Whilst there are vast car-parking areas, and even a mini-bus station at this site, no advantage so far has been taken of the nearby railway line to run a shuttle link to this mall. Perhaps this may happen in the future.
