MIGRAINES

Migraines are recurrent throbbing headaches that characteristically affect one side of the head. There is often some forewarning of an attack (aura) consisting of visual disturbances or numbness and/or weakness of the limbs, which clear up as the headache develops. It is often accompanied by prostration and vomiting. Sometimes there appears to be an association with certain foods that are ingested and in women there is sometimes an association with their menstrual cycle.

The herbalist will use herbs to address any underlying condition with the use of nervines, circulatory herbs and ‘hormonal balancing’ herbs when appropriate.

Herbs are typically taken as tinctures diluted in water or tablets.
