Duty Patrol

The role of the duty patrol has always existed but the exact duties of the patrol have never before been very clear or maybe to put it better understood. This new way of running duty patrol will ensure that each patrol is treated equally and does the required number of tasks expected form that patrol each week. So that the a patrol can benefit from its efforts point will be awarded weekly to the duty patrol and added to the yearly points total. Each patrol will have an equal number of opportunities to get these extra points as duties will rotate around the patrols each week. The extra points on offer are an extra 20 points for completing a duty week completely, with point taken off for not completing the separate task to a satisfactory standard.

bullet

Stand in your correct patrol location in a straight line with the PL at on end and the APL at the other end of the line ( PL are responsible for telling you where your correct location is, ask them)

bullet

Once at alert remain at alert until you are told to stand at ease, all other times stand still with your hand located behind your back.

The use of  mobile phones is strictly prohibited during the whole evening so if you have to bring a mobile phone keep it in your patrol box turned off. Any scout found to have a mobile phone on them will have all his points deducted for that evening

The point will be calculated using the following weighting for each of the marking criteria

Uniform Points available Point won Behaviour/Conduct Points available Point won
Shirt 3   Talking 4
Scarf 3   Conduct 4
Shoes 2   Correct location 2
Trousers 2   Mobile phone All point lost
10     10

The points are per scout and so each scout will receive their points out of ten.

Uniform Points available Point won Behaviour/Conduct Points available Point won
Shirt 3 2 Talking 4 2
Scarf 3 2 Conduct 4 2
Shoes 2 1 Correct location 2 2
Trousers 2 2 Mobile phone All point lost
  10 7   10 6

In the example above the scout was awarded 15 points for the inspection. The points for the patrol are then averaged out, which means the points for each member is added together and divided by the number of members in a patrol, giving  the average number of point per patrol member in that patrol. The patrol which receives to highest points average will be the winning patrol on that night.

Prizes will be decided by your PLs and APLs once the system is up to satisfactory standard
