Tuesday 30 May. Last day with the car - last chance for Alpine Swift.                                    At 6 am I`m happily scanning from Santa Galdana beach - At 8 am I`m still scanning from the beach but not quite so happily. I decided to drive back up the hill that leads down to the town and take the first right and head for the end of the cliffs that you can see on your left from the beach. Here I found a watchpoint, I watched to no avail. The Swiss guy who owns the house to the left of the watchpoint started chatting and said there was another one 50 yards to the left, you just walk along the cliff top behind his garden, so off I went and there they were, a colony of Alpine Swift - fantastic.

Decided to squeeze in a quick visit to Son Bou ( well it was my last day with the car and last chance for Great Reed and Moustached Warbler). Unfortunately these Warblers stayed away, however I did get to see many of the birds from previous visits so can`t really complain.            Wednesday 31 May - Friday 2 June. Morning or evening walks up the hill. Good birding with Blackcap being the only addition to the list.

Birdguides

Saturday 3 June. Walked along the coast with the family to Son Bou, about 2 miles from apartment to pedallo hire. We saw Peregrine Falcon, Egyptian Vulture, Kestrel, Blue Rock Thrush, Swift, Hoopoe, Stonechat, Nightingale, Yellow Legged Gull and Cetti`s, Reed and Fan Tailed Warbler.

Sunday 4 June. Last full day. A mid morning walk west along the coast. Just outside Santo Tomas, sitting on a wall was a Wheatear. OK we`ve all seen plenty but what a bird, a great end to the holiday and a good start to a website.
