John Flavell, son of Thomas Flavell, a farmer, was born about 1814 in Woolscott, Warwickshire. John married Mary Anne North, on 26 Oct 1837 in St Lawrence's Church, Foleshill, Warwickshire. Mary was the daughter of Samuel North and Mary Liggins and was born about 1814 in Foleshill, Warwickshire.
They had the following children:
Joseph Liggins Flavell was born about 1839 and died 21 Mar 1924. Frances Elizabeth Flavell was born about 1844 and died 20 Oct 1868. John Flavell was born about 1853
In 1841 John is described as a Miller at Bell Green and in 1847 he is described as farmer but by 1851 he is a grocer in the village. By 1861 he has taken over the Bell Hotel which was then a beerhouse.
In a draft Will , dated 1847, John leaves his household goods to his wife, Mary, the remainder to be sold by his trustees and the proceeds to be invested, with dividends to be paid to his wife during her widowhood and the remainder to distributed equally to their children. Joseph Liggins is named as executor.
