My name is Debi J Harwood. On the 1st of June 2000, I officially opened the first Reiki healing rooms with services specifically directed at animals and their wellbeing.
On Friday the 9th of June, a documentary appeared on Channel 5 on a programme called Talk TV about myself and the animals I have worked with. The response has been phenomenal and I am more than aware that the services that I offer, have been long awaited.
Reiki is a form of hands on healing that is termed as a complimentary therapy. The nature of the service is such that it compliments any vetinerary treatment that the animal may be receiving, and works well to increase the healing process in any animal after a trauma or operation.
It is also unique in a way that it helps an animal with any emotional or behavioural problem it may be experiencing.
I myself, was a sceptic until through Reiki, I was able to heal a mystery illness that struck me down for 3 years and baffled the doctors. After learning Reiki, I was able to heal myself of this so called illness, and performed Reiki on one of my cats after he had had a major hip operation to help with the recovery process. From this point onwards, I decided to provide the service for all animals that need it. I am not aware of any other animal reiki practitioners at this stage, so the service that I provide is invaluable.
I have worked with National Magazines, Television and Radio in a normal working capacity since I left school, and am very used to being interviewed. I have also produced programmes myself and know what it is like to work with a film crew.
As far as Reiki treatments go, I have treated many sportspeople and have appeared in countless newspapers, Essex Radio, Breeze TV and Talk TV to name but a few.
