The Broadcasting Band with Ian, Derek, Gordon, Neil and Scott has just recorded a full album for the RSCDS. It features the dances in Book 34 and 3 leaflet dances.

One of Scotland's most popular bands on the Scottish Country Dance and Ceilidh Dance scene, the Ian Muir Sound is busy all year round.
 
Highlight of 2000 was playing at the world famous Turnberry Hotel for the Hogmonay celebrations.
Colin Bell, Ian Muir & Derek Hamilton form the nucleus of the Ian Muir Sound for general gigs.
 
For broadcasts the band is augmented by Neil McMillan, Gordon Simpson and Scott Gordon.
 
Besides playing all over the UK at functions with a Scottish flavour, the band have played on Scottish theme Cruises for the famous P&O Cruise line.

Ian Muir has appeared many times on TV in shows like 'Thingummyjig', 'Welcome to the Ceilidh', 'Shindig' and more recently 'Northern Nights'.

The band did the last ever broadcast live from Studio 1 at the BBC's Queen Margaret Drive in Glasgow. The BBC is in the process of moving to a brand new buiding at the Quays on the South side of the Clyde. It was broadcast live on 'Take the Floor' on 27th January 2007.
