The album has made its way into the Virgin chart [large chain store within the uk], and is possibly the first melodic hard rock album to chart [except for Def Leppard, bon jovi ] within the chains charts for a few years. THE VU recorded one album that was produced by the band itself, Wally Buck & Steven Jarvis, with additional engineering by Steve Fontano. The album style is classic AOR music of the eighties with a major production and contains guest performances of The Storm and Two Fires guitar player Josh Ramos, along with features from ex Megadeth guitar player Marty Friedman. The cd features also two songs which were later recorded by other artists. In 1990, infact, the song "Keys to the City" was recorded by Mickey Thomas and Starship, while "Who You Gonna Believe" was chosen as the ending song on Cher's third album of the eighties "Love Hurts". The site, WWW.PEACHFUZZ.ORG, will join its brother (www.enuffznuff.com) and sister (www.path.ne.jp/~bisland/znuffer.html) sites, located respectively in the United States and in Japan. Although it is in it's infancy stage, and many updates and pages must be added, the ultimate goal of this site will be to provide the same information and features that the Official site in the United States contains. PEACHFUZZ.ORG gets its moniker from the album of the same name, PEACHFUZZ, released by Enuff Z'nuff in 1996. This site used to be one of the many unofficial sites dedicated to the band. EZN's management approached the owner of Peachfuzz.org, and arranged to have it converted to a site dedicated to the European fan. If all goes according to plan, the tour will start on November 22. TAB BOOK The long-awaited tab book is truly close to release now! We think that you'll appreciate the reason for the delay, though. During the editing stage, it was determined that the words should be put under the tab so that they could follow the song, instead of being listed first, then the tab. This required a major change in format, but in the end it is a more desirable, "user-friendly" method. The word is that this is a tab book unlike any other, with background details on each song. The band hopes to have it available for at least part of the upcoming tour. A perfect gift for the guitarist in your life (especially if that guitarist is YOU!). BAND BIO A book that delves into the band's history is currently in the works. Written by Mark Chatterton and Gary Carter, it includes a lot of "behind-the-scenes" history. While interviews with Martin Turner have been the primary source of information, Andy has been asked to give his input to the project. Even though the genre of music Teer specializes in playing lost a lot of it's popularity in the United States around that time, the band continued in search of a recording contract in other countries. This search eventually led them to Ralph Santolla, guitarist of Millenium, who produced a demo that was submitted to Now and Then Productions. Teer signed with Now & Then/Frontiers in 1998 and began working on material for their debut CD. The album features the band's incredible songwriting and serve as a worldwide introduction to the awesome chemistry of Teer, as well as the individual talents of each member. A solid rhythm section and tight guitarwork are contrasted with soaring vocals and lead guitar on Teer's eponymous CD, giving the band an instantly recognizable sonic signature. David has been working in the past two decades with some of the best names of the melodic hard rock scene and made his reputation singing on the first two GIUFFRIA albums. David fronting the band toured extensively, opened for DEEP PURPLE and FOREIGNER having also a Top 20 hit with the song "Call To The Heart". Later his career turned to more raspy and hard sounds with DIRTY WHITE BOY first (together with ex David Bowie and Silver Condor guitarist EARL SLICK) which released one album on Polygram and MURDERER'S ROW. He also worked on a Frontiers Records album two years ago: "Nothing Is Sacred" by STREAM (a band featuring the likes of Eric Singer ex Kiss and Bob Daisley ex Ozzy). David also guested on various other albums of artists such as KISS and MICHAEL BOLTON. The Rainmaker album had been a dream of Z label boss Mark Alger and is the first album for Z on which he has had a hands on involvement form start to finish. 1999 Prisoner signed to the label , TOMMY DENANDER had already been in regular contact with Mark for many years and when he was told of the Rainmaker master plan he said "Hey , try to outline what you want such as direction etc". After receiving notes Tommy immediately gave the ok for his involvement on the album. The project now had a World Class guitarist, next step was the vocalist and the logical step was GEIR RONNING of Prisoner , his vocals have been noted within the press as some of best vocal work to come out Europe in recent years. Preproduction demos where recorded and by March 2000 6 songs had been given the green light for the album. At last a firm release could be set ! It was important to everyone that they found a bass player capable of the input required for such a project. The search led Mark to California the now home of Superstar English bass player TONY FRANKLIN known for his work with such legendary acts such as The Firm, Blue Murder, and Whitesnake. Upon hearing the material Tony quickly responded and agreed to cover bass duties on the album. PRAYING MANTIS "Nowhere
To Hide" Tracklisting: Nowhere To Hide; Cruel Winter; The Clocktower; Can't Stop The Fire; Future Of The World; Whenever I'm Lost; You'll Never Know; River Of Hope; S.O.S.; The Man That Never Was (bonus track) PRAYING MANTIS started as a real band, back in 1977 when Spanish-Greek brothers TINO and CHRIS TROY, together with Mick Ranson on drums and Bob Angelo on guitar recorded a demo which received great critical acclaim in the heavy metal scene in the UK. The famous DJ NEAL KAY often played their songs and thanks to his support, three of the demo tracks were finally published in 1979 as a maxi-single entitled "The Soundhouse Tapes". Another demo song was later included in the "Metal For Muthas" compilation, the same one on which IRON MAIDEN appeared with "Wrathchild" and "Sanctuary". Thanks to the buzz that was starting to rise around their music, PRAYING MANTIS were able to get the support slot on the first IRON MAIDEN UK tour and then later went into the studio with the new drummer Dave Potts (ex Ten Years After) and Steve Carroll on guitars and vocals. With this lineup the band released the debut album "Time Tells No Lies" which is still considered as one of the best expressions of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal phenomenon. The song "Johnny Cool" was included on the BBC compilation "Metal Explosion" and the band were able to play at the 1981 Reading Festival in front of 15,000 people. Unfortunately, notwithstanding the great critical acclaim, "Time Tells No Lies" didn`t have much commercial fortune, therefore the band decided to add a new singer (ex GRAND PRIX and later URIAH HEEP, BERNIE SHAW) and a keyboard player in order to give more depth to their sound. With this line up, Praying Mantis recorded a single "Turn The Tables" and again appeared on the bill of the Reading Festival. A new lineup change (ex IRON MAIDEN drummer CLIVE BURR enters the band) brought later also a name change. As STRATUS, the band toured the UK and released one album called "Throwing Shapes" in 1985. In 1990 Praying Mantis finally reformed with a new lineup featuring two further ex-IRON MAIDEN cohorts: PAUL DI'ANNO (on vocals) and DENNIS STRATTON (on guitar), with BRUCE BISLAND on drums, thanks to the interest of some Japanese promoters. They also released a live album ("Live At Last") in 1990 recorded during that tour. The success gained in the Eastern lands, convinced the band about the possibility of a reunion with the support of the PONY CANYON label and once again with a renewed lineup (the band featured in this time ex MSG singer Gary Barden and then Mark Thompson-Smith on vocals) released three studio and one live album. In 1998 PRAYING MANTIS published (with huge critical and commercial acclaim in Japan) the "Forever In Time" album, with the new singer TONY O'HORA (also member of HORAKANE) touring once again in Japan and the UK. The year 2000 has brought us the finest masterpiece of the Mantis career: "NOWHERE TO HIDE" which is a gorgeous cd with brilliant production and cool songwriting. A real gem shining in the melodic heavy metal panorama of today's rock music. The band will be appearing at the label's GODS festival in the UK during November. ALFONZETTI“s album "Ready" is all ready for release, which will be set for early September. lead by singer Matti Alfonzetti whom since his days in Bam Bam Boys been something of a Swedish David Coverdale, with a voice packed of power and yet so full of feel... The album is fine slice of melodic rock, with uptempo rockers such as "Blowing Up Detroit", the title track and "No Way Out".
