Electroporation

By applying an electric field to a medium containing biological cells, the cell membranes become porous. This process is known as electroporation and is the basis for a wide variety of biotech applications. Diverse have designed a number of these systems for a variety of clients. The designs encopass single sample exposure through to units that can process continuously making large volumes of porated product.

Electro Sensing

Streaming potential instruments that sense only a few femto-amps (1E-15 Amps). This novel technique can recover the surface charges on biological cells and derive quatitative data. Historically, detecting this level of current is difficult to achieve reliably. The coherent technique developed by Diverse provides a high degree of repeatability, programmable bandwidth and a robust system.

Nanolitre dispensing

Diverse have developed systems for delivering very small volumes of liquids. Typical applications are miniature biology array systems that allow large numbers of biological experiments to be conducted in parallel. This is important for the development of new drugs and determining reactions to a matrix of drug dillutions.

Optical Biosensing

Diverse has designed instruments to extract data from optical sensors - fluorescence, bioluminensense, holographic or colour change. These tests for changes can be carried out singy or in an array on optical disc.

Applications include identifying the presence of a specific bacteria, enzyme or reagent, or assessing the performance of new drugs, or prescribed dillutions.

Thermal Cycling

Amplification of PCR of genomic DNA product. Diverse has designed multi-well thermal controllers, and opto sensing and analysis systems to track the progress of the process. Peltier controlled temperature systems for arrays of test wells allow accurate thermal management and fast response time.

Lab Equipment

Diverse have designed a wide variety of lab equipment, from specialist optical measurements through to the humble magnetic stirrer.
