Diverse provide a variety of specialist weld related equipment. Our
Squeeze Analyser is used by leading automotive manufactuers around the
world. Our Zeromag demagnetising unit is the world leading technology
for overcoming arc blow and other magnetism related quality problems.

Squeeze Analyser (SQA)
Used by all major car manufacturers, the SQA optimises the timing efficiency
of resistance welding guns. This unit is of the most robust design - it
needs to be if it is to be used in production and placed between the jaws
of a resistance weld gun! The unit has a simple graphical interface that
can be used by shop floor personnel to provide accurate calibration of
the squeeze-weld phasing.

Zeromag
Portable Weld Demagnetizer. Used in conjuction with our Magmeter,
the ZeroMag system can reduce the net magnet field in large steel parts
to zero. This will then allow unimpeded arc welding of the part.
This unique dynamic demagnetizing system, changes the demagnetising
current as the weld progresses. It reduces or eliminates the effects of
magnetic arc blow. There are lots of options with this product, including
extension cables, gas cooled probe, and our exciting new degaussing option.
To assist weld engineers Diverse can supply a complete demagnetising
package, comprising all the key options as well as our robust gaussmeter
(Magmeter) that can sense magnetic fields right into the gap of the weld
prep.

Welding
Processes |
Not surprisingly, Diverse have over the years been involved with
work on novel welding techniques. Two of these are presented here; these
projects are no longer active, however we would be interested in talking
to those with possible applications in these areas. Bespoke systems for
your applications could be developed using our know how. |

FAB
Friction Acoustic Bonding (FAB) - a method of making lap welds in thin
metals as well as many non-metallic materials. This experimental techniqe
works by setting up a shock wave in trhe material locally bonding the
twop parts together. |

MIAB
Magnetically Impelled Arc Butt Welding. This process is ideal for arc
butt welding, as the weld plasma can be contained reasonably easily with
electromagnets. The technique, although unusual, is used to weld vehicle
rear axel to the wheel stubs. It is fast and weld costs are hence low,
but the investment costs are high. We would be delighted to discuss joint
ventures that could use this technology. |
