Diverse prides itself in being a "lifestyle company". This means that our objective is to tune our way of doing business, the way our staff are employed and the way in which we complete our work so that the lifestyle of those associated with Diverse is improved. The outcome is good working conditions, flexible working time and venue, and interesting projects. This objective to be accomplished by ethical means. We take great pride in the projects and companies we serve whether we are providing a service, or products.

Historically, Diverse has been designing optical and instrumentation systems since 1983. Based in Cambridge, England, our team has worked for many of the world's leading companies. In 1996 Diverse moved to larger offices and laboratories 5km south of the city of Cambridge.

The company's share holding is now privately held, after a successful buy back from independent investors including the German company Polytec PI GmbH . Apart from a small dividend, all profits have historically been reinvested within the company.

We have a core team of engineering staff and a large number of associates used to bring a variety of skills to our designs. Diverse does not manufacture in house, but we control small and medium volume manufacture both for our own products and for our commercial partners.

During recent years, we have expanded the simulation aspects of our design work in order to achieve our aim of 'right first time every time'. CAD, whether it is optical, electronic, magnetic or conventional mechanical, allow us to ensure good engineering. By simulating the full function of the product real confidence in the design can be established. The advantage of little or no re-work of expensive mould tools, and other tooling investments is easy to demonstrate.
