High Speed 100% Inspection
DIVERSE has developed a set of analysis algorithms
(VA-CAS) which can analyse vision data at a rate which is a
fraction of the image frame time. This allows us to use
standard PCs to undertake vision analysis which previously
would have required a dedicated image processor computer. We
have used this technology for high speed vision analysis
equipment for the glass container industry for several
years. Our Check-in-thread and Check-under-ring equipment
has gained broad acceptance in the glass industry.
Low Speed 100% Inspection
DIVERSE has suplied systems for analysing the
performance of laser diode semiconductors. These tiny chips,
typically only a few hundred microns wide, can also be
inspected for failures to meet other criteria such as
surface finish, cut straightness and blemishes. DIVERSE has
built a system to acquire these high magnification images
and analyse for quality problems.
Dynamic systems
Production systems can be very difficult to adjust,
particularly where the adjustment involves parts which move
dynamically, or the changes caused by the adjustment process
effects more than one output. Typical of this type of system
are ink jet printers for which DIVERSE has built system
analysers based on vision analysis.
Line Scan
Certain systems, particularly those with a constant
motion transport or material feed, lend theselves to image
analysis using a line scan camera. These systems have the
advantage of fast acquisition and short analysis time. Our
experience in these includes medical assay strips,
banknotes, film mastering and vehicle wheel alignment
sensors.
