Parts of the church date from the time of the Norman survey. The church was restored in the 14th century and windows of this period still remain. The tower was rebuilt in 1421. Considerable repair and restoration was carried out by the Maharajah Duleep Singh in 1869. The age of the Green Man carvings is unknown, some sources suggest 20th century.
