The Green Man disgorges vegetation whilst a mythical creature (bird?) is depicted either holding or also disgorging. Both photos which are of the same Green Man are to be found on the left hand side pillar capital in the nave near to the north door. There was also a head on the exterior of the north door very weather worn but could be a Green Man.

On the south porch exterior are these two heads set amongst the greenery one to the right and left of the porch added in 1861.

St. Mary the Virgin Sutterton.

This is a crumbling gem of a church with wonderful carving that have suffered the ravages of time, however there is still much to see and is well worth a visit.
