wpe8.jpg (21315 bytes) Two panels on the octagonal font have Green Man carvings. The one above depicts foliage sprouting from the mouth.
wpe1.jpg (41519 bytes) This Green man has to be one of my favourites, he almost disappears depending on the angle. The disgorged leaves coming forwards to dominate the face.
wpeA.jpg (31176 bytes) St. Peter's Thurston. The font which is 14th century was severely damaged in Victorian times when part of the church roof collapsed onto it. It was restored and conceals it's past well showing no sign of it's damage.
