The corner bar, or 'carraig rua' as its more widely known as, is the first bar you will see if driving from the Derry side. The name carraig rua translates from gaeilge as red rock, which, as you will see, refers to the colour of the building. Over the past several years it has changed leaseholders quite a few times, and is now been run by the McNamee family from ballinascreen, but don't hold that against them as they're not the worst from that part of the world. The 'Kangaroo' has a disco on Friday nights which costs you £5 to get in but then all drinks are a measly quid. Saturdays are usually a band night and Suday nights are also a disco night. On top of all this, they will gladly let you have your functions here. They also have a jukebox, pool table, dart board and sega rally machine. |
