The Dulas valley, from a point just above Corris, on the
Aberllefenni road. Notice how the old fences down in the valley were
constructed from the most plentiful material occurring in the area -
slate. |

Foel Grochan Slate Quarry, Aberllefenni. The waste tips and
abandoned buildings are typical of the area. |

This is the single track road through the Dyfi Forest linking
Aberllefenni with Aberangell. For many years it was a very rough private road,
used only by the Forestry Commission and occasional car rallies, and I don't
know when someone had the great idea of improving it and making it available
for public use. Today it forms a spectacular route for light traffic (heavy
vehicles and caravans are prohibited), with some superb views. In the far
distance in this shot you can just make out the peaks of the Cader Idris
range. |
