This mountainous wilderness comprises 13.2 million acres, which makes it America's largest national park. It contains the most peaks in excess of 14,500 ft in North America and has the greatest concentration of glaciers in the continent. Dall sheep, three herds of caribou, moose and loads of bears all inhabit this truly wild and rugged land. The Wrangell, St. Elias, Nutzotin and Chugach mountain chains all converge in this park. |
