Sense         reg. Charity No. 289868 senlogo.gif - 2948 Bytes

The objective of the challenge was for the participants to get themselves sponsored to complete the challenge (please refer to my SlogBook for a full breakdown of exactly what got up to in the magic land).

Monies donated go towards funding the work of the charity.

Sense was originally formed in 1955 by a group of parents as a self-help group. Since then, it has been working hard to improve the quality of life for deafblind people. There are currently in excess of 23,000 people who are deafblind within the UK. Valuable work carried out by the organisation includes specialist services and training for people who are deafblind, their families, their carers and professionals who work with them. Sense is now the world's largest organisation that works with deafblind people. HRH The Princess Royal is Sense's patron.

Over one and a quarter million pounds have been raised to support Sense's vital work since the inception of the overseas challenges in 1998. By getting involved with the challenge, I will be helping to further the work of Sense into the new millenium.
