This is held every year at the Ripley Flower Show. This allows the locals and general public see what we are up to and allow them to have a go on the kids boats and cars. A competition is also held, with the prize being a couple of lessons on theclub trainer aircraft. The public are also invited to a flying display the following week at our Ripley site.
There are also many other static displays and model boat shows we put on every year, where we try and promote the hobby of modelling.
SANDOWN MODEL SYMPOSIUM
The Sandown model show is unfortunately no longer running, with the last show having taken place in May 2006. After
30 years of Elmbridge Model Club running the show, it was decided it was no longer a viable propositon much to many peoples deep regret.

EMC started the Sandown Model Symposium in 1976 which is became one of the biggest and best model
trade shows of the calender, covering nearly all aspects of the modelling trade from radio control
planes, helicopters, control liners, boats, cars, trains and even scaletrix. Demonstrations of all
disciplines were put on by by both the trade and EMC making for an excellent
place to see the equipment in operation by some of the best modellers in the world and be able
to meet them in person. With three levels of the grandstand taken up with shops from all these
disciplines it would be hard not to find anything that you are looking for and ask questions to the
top minds in the business. In the radio control aircraft displays we saw the best of the best,
including Christophe Paysant-Le-Roux, Hanno Prettner, Curtis Youngblood, Bob Johnston and many others.
