LIST OF BULMER WILLS AT YORK

Will of John Talbott, Thornton-le-Street (3m. from Thirsk) pr. 1573. "Item I will that Agnes Bulmer shall have the house with the app'teunes y' Richard Forrest now dwellith in during hir life without any Rent paying for the same. In this same Will is a description of some land left to a son "from Bulmerspring end." Will of (1572) Thomas Spark. Bishop suffragan of Berwick.
Will of Robert Bulmer, Gent. Extract by Mr Surtees from Will proved at York, Dec. 28th, 1528. Robert Bulmer, Gent., of Bulmer:- To my master Sir John Bulmer and William Bulmer, his son, a bay stag; to my dau. Margaret, wife of Rauf Gray, a little mazar bowle, and a broach that was my mothers. This Robert would be of a junior branch of the great family of Bulmer of Wilton, and doubtless held a farm of Sir John at a merely nominal rent. John Bulmer. Extract by Mr Surtees, from Will proved at York:-John Bulmer of Scrayingham. 6th May, 1543.- My daughter Agnes to have to her portion, tow oxen, tow rye, tow stirkes, six yowes with their lambes, and X hogges, one great cauldron and one arke, one credell, with one girdle, and then she to be furth with her portion. Elizabeth, my daughter, one girdle. Isabel, my daughter. one pair of beades. My youngest daughter Xs., because she has neither girdle nor beades. (Scrayingham. E.R.
