* The tight family has always been seen to be a support network and the generation gap is less apparent in France than it is in Anglo Saxon countries.
La famille tres soudée a toujours formé un support a l'individu et le trou entre générations est moins apparent en France que dans les pays Anglo-saxons.
* The end of the 30 glorieuses however has meant that youngsters nowadays are not sure of employment in the future. Some rebel against a hard regimented system which does not promise anything anymore.
La fin des trente glorieuses cependant amene les jeunes à se poser des questions sur le futur emploi. Certains se rebellent contre un systeme éducatif tres astreignant qui ne garantie plus le futur.
* Whilst most parents know that France is of course superior to any other country in the world, youngster are not so sure anymore.
Les parents pensent que le systeme est, biensur, superieur à d'autres dans le monde. Les jeunes ne sont pas surs!
* The French policy of boosting French culture for French consumption is undermined by the new Anglo Saxon ideas
* Most top French actors are now turning to American films, eventhough such venture would have been seen as beneath contempt some 5 years ago.
* Youngster in France face the problems that all youngster face in the world.
* In Strasbourg some youngsters traditionally every Christmas burnt cars in the street. These mini riots have been until 2 years ago confined to Strasbourg. It was assumed that hooligans were at the source of the destruction.
* The burning of cars however has spread through the whole of France within 2 years. It is no longer confined to
Christmas and Strasbourg.
* The real problem is that all formal studies about these spites of mini revolts all concur in saying that the culprits, far
from being hooligans, are mostly well educated middle class teenagers…
* Is liberte, egalite fraternite threatened to the core?
