La politique
(le 3eme chemin)

Heavy stuff indeed.  Instead of having a French version of what is below, re-write it in your own words, then transfer it into French (don't translate).  You'll end up with something excellent!  Contact the tutor if you want some help!

* The third way is the association of a captitalist economy, a socialist ethos, and a state which plays an active role in investing in its own industries and infrastructures.

* For many France's third way has been an aberration.  For France its has been a 30 year success (30 glorieuses)

* The short term price of this third way has always been unemployment.  France has been able to cope with the financial cost of this unemployment.

* Thanks to the 35 hour week however, unemployment in  France is now lower than ever (9%) but still higher than its European friends.

* However nowadays there is more and more violence (car burning epidemics) from those who are unemployed, the social cost is increasing, the marginalised are more and more numerous and they eventually threaten the whole raison d'etre of the  French State
