Legal Disclaimer: use of the Site

This page is intended to make it clear that the site or its editors cannot take any legal or other responsibility for visitors and readers’ responses to the site. It is the responsibility of visitors whether they want to read the features and articles, and whether they want to respond to any comments in whatever way they choose. The site and the articles are meant to be helpful and positive. If you have any queries or comments, please send them to the editor by e-mail by clicking here, and mark the subject field “Comments”. We will do our best to read comments and respond. However, we cannot guarantee to respond. A further point is that we cannot take any responsibility for the quality or nature of the external links to other web sites which are found on this site. We advise our visitors that they use such links at their own risk, and we cannot guarantee that external link sites will be virus free. If in doubt, make full use of your anti-virus software. If you do not have any anti-virus software, do a search for those words, and download a package free off the net. A further point is that whilst we make every effort to make sure that the site is entirely virus free, we cannot absolutely guarantee this due to the work of hackers and the prevalence of viruses, which can be passed on to computer users accidentally.

Copyright and Submission of Written Pieces

As stated at the bottom of every page, the contents of the site are copyrighted. This includes the name of the site, “Walking-Wounded.Net”, and the UN-hyphenated phrase “WalkingWounded.Net” (also a reserved URL), as well as the written contents, including the articles. The name to which these materials are copyrighted is to the editor of the site, Paul Schofield. However, articles and testimonies not written by the site editor, whether named or anonymous, are the copyright of their respective owners.

Also, it should be stressed (as it has been explained in the “Vision” page of the site, under “How the site Works”), that any articles or testimonies that are submitted to the site should be clearly marked with a name, or if not “anonymous”. If a name is present, then even if “anonymous” also appears, the name may appear with the piece on the site. This matter is the responsibility of the sender to deal with. Also, if “anonymous” appears, then proving the copyright of the piece is the responsibility of the writer. Furthermore, we cannot guarantee that if someone does provide their name, that it will appear with their article; we therefore cannot guarantee that copyright will be maintained.

There is no guarantee that any article, testimony or submitted piece will be even read or will appear in the site. Also, the editor upholds the right to edit any piece however much he wants, for reasons of space or any other reason. In practise, this editing could potentially alter the overall meaning of the piece in some way, although this would not be intentional. It is the responsibility of the sender of any piece to make sure that they agree to these terms before they submit any piece. However, the editor will only take away from an article, he will not add his own words. Having said this, he may choose to add his own comments with a piece, which will be labelled or will be in a different font or text colour. These comments could appear before or after the article, or at some point part way through.

Security of Submitted Pieces and Material

It should be stressed that any person submitting an article, testimony or other written piece does so at their own risk. We cannot guarantee the security of any submitted material against the work of hackers or malicious retrieval. Also, those who submit pieces should make sure any personal references about themselves or others are be altered to other names, events or circumstances before they are submitted to the site. This will serve to protect the privacy and anonymity of the writer. We may change names in pieces of writing that we receive, but we cannot guarantee that we will.
