‘Nimble & exciting'
Eliza Carthy

‘What a brilliant set, beautifully interpreted and exquisitely presented'
John Owen, Folk North West

‘Pyrotechnic dexterity … Oli Wilson-Dickson`s cleanly articulated torrent of notes, cascades over Eddy Jay`s swelling and receding piano accordion fills, in a manner that exudes both confidence and maturity… nothing`s too great a challenge for this talented pair.'
M Greenwood, Taplas Magazine

'So hot sparks flew'

Featuring Oli Wilson-Dickson on violin & voice and Eddy Jay on accordion, guitar & voice, The Beacons (formally Newfolks) take their audiences on a wild and exciting musical journey.

Expect to hear everything from mind-bending Macedonian dances to delicate Welsh airs, from sizzling Gypsy serenades to barn-storming Bluegrass.

...from sizzling Gypsy serenades to barn-storming Bluegrass...

As Newfolks, Oli and Eddy have spent several years touring across the UK and have worked for 3 years on Yehudi Menhuin's Live Music Now scheme. Having given literally hundreds of concerts in every kind of venue: village halls, schools, hospitals, concert halls, major festivals, residential homes, youth clubs and special schools – they are as comfortable playing to 20,000 at Bryn Terfel's festival as they are with a small family audience.

In concert, Oli & Eddy have supported José Carreras & Jools Holland. They have wowed festival audiences at Broadstairs, Sidmouth, Bury St Edmunds, Brigg Fiddle Fest, Wheaton Aston, Tredegar House, The Gower, Eastborne and Chippenham. They have also played at Henley Festival, Chichester Festivities, St David's Hall, The Millenium Centre, The Barbican and The National Eisteddfod. Newfolks have been heard on BBC Radio Wales & Live Television.
