Stephen Gosson

He was a poet, actor, dramatist, satirist and preacher. Born in 1555 in Kent he was a scholar of Christchurch, Oxford from 1572 for four years. He married Elizabeth Arton on 25 April 1587 in Stepney.

Appointed in 1591 as Rector of Great Wigborough, Essex he exchanged this in 1600 to curé of St Botolph, Bishopsgate, where he died 17 February 1623.
