Part-time (Flexible) Training for General Practice

We now have a permanent Flexible Training scheme.
This will be a 3 year flexible rotation in the hospital which will consist
of 6 x 6 month jobs (60% part time) in:
 | Obstetrics and Gynaecology |
 | Medicine |
 | Paediatrics |
 | Psychiatry |
 | Accident and Emergency |
 | ENT |
This will be followed by 20 months in one or two of the excellent training
practices in Worcestershire.

speaking to one of the Course Organisers.

Appointment

Should have well-founded personal reasons for being unable
to work full time - agreed at interview by Associate Dean for Flexible training. |

Should have realistic training goal |

Should have formal speciality training interview - by
Regional appointment committee for GP Vocational Training. |

Two periods of full time training each lasting no less than 1 week in
both hospital and general practice |
SHO Component
 |

General Practice Component

At least 60% of normal working week for full time GP
registrar (GPR) |

At least 60% of a full-time GPRs out-of-hours work |

At least 60% share of usual GPR Saturday morning rota |
 | Tutorials and protected teaching time outside the
practice are included in
normal working week |
Hospital component
 |
At least 60% of normal working week (as defined by NHS
terms and conditions of service) |

At least 60% of ADHs and on call - (Trust need to fund
ADHs but Deanery funds 100% of salary) |
