Bromyard
We work out of a purpose built surgery. We dispense to about 70% of our patients from a well run dispensary. Bromyard sits close to the border of Hereford and Worcester. We have a small Community Hospital, which has 24 beds, and an active Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Unit and a Day Hospital. It also has visiting consultants in surgery, gynaecology and ophthalmology. The practice area covers a radius of about 7 - 8 miles around
Bromyard. We do our own on-call Monday to Friday and share on-call at weekends with a local practice at
Knightwick. About 80% of our referrals are to Hereford, the rest going to Worcester or Kidderminster. All the partners and the staff are very much looking forward to becoming a training practice. Within the partnership and staff we have a lot of experience of training nurses, reception staff, medical students and registrars. Both Kevin Ilsley and Ian Tait have run the local courses at different times over the last fifteen years. Kevin is Regional Associate Director in General Practice. We hope to start as a training practice from August 1998. If anyone is interested in knowing more about the practice, please contact me either by post at the above address, or by telephone.
