Droitwich - Health Centre

The William's practice in Droitwich Health Centre is a six partner semi-rural and small town practice with a patient population of 11,000. Ninety per cent of patients live in Droitwich. The patient demographics include a large elderly population of deceptively high deprivation factor.

There are four male and two female partners (and Registrar) who have a wide range of interests. This includes gastroenterology, chest medicine, complementary medicine and GP education.

It is a busy, friendly practice where all members of staff work well as a team. There is good communication between the partners, other members of staff and the local practices. The surgery is extensively computerised and has recently changed to a windows based computer system (ITS). We close the surgery one afternoon a month for practice training. There is an ethos of self-directed learning; working together and fair share

Out Of Hours
At present the practice operates a hybrid on-call system. The on call is shared between the three practices in Droitwich. On weekdays the calls are triaged by a nurse and doctor and visits passed on to the on call doctor. This involves the registrar doing approximately one night per month, with trainer cover. At the weekends, we currently employ a locum. The registrar is thus expected only to be involved in a very occasional Saturday morning surgery.

If you would like to have an individual, well-supported Registrar year with good wide-ranging experience, then come to Droitwich!
