South Korea v Poland

Tuesday 4th June 2002 12.30 BST, Busan

South Korea 2 Poland 0
Hwang Sun-hong 26, Yoo Sang-chul 50

yippee!

I have done S Korea a terrible injustice by suggesting that *even* the USA will beat *these*. Don't think so! They were fabulous!!! Everything they did was magic. They were fast and skillful; had boundless energy and the most incredible enthusiasm. Having said that, Poland were absolutely terrible. Ponderous, pathetic passing, no enthusiasm. What's more, they wore the Puma shorts - but they hung off them as they were obviously 2 sizes too big! "Even" the USA will beat Poland!!

Thank you Korea - you've brightened up the World Cup no end! By noon tomorrow, we'll have seen all the teams play once. I should think that Korea will be high on most peoples' lists of "bests". Along with Spain, of course!

Poland completely miss the point of the design of the shorts.
