Spain v Paraguay

Spain 3 Paraguay 1
Morientes 53, 69, Hierro (pen) 83; Puyol (og) 10

ole!!

So, Spain are the first team through to the next round!! Of course, I am happy about that - but I'm not going to get overexcited about it. I never felt they were in danger of losing the game today, even though they went the goal down (definitely not Puyol's fault - Casillas must take the blame). I'm surprised though that the commentary team thought that Paraguay had come to just make up the numbers. A talented side that - and I wish them luck with their next game; I hope that they qualify. I would, again, question Camacho's team selection. He was being praised for his substitutions at half-time, but surely Morientes and Helguera should've started the game. The should start ALL the games.

A message to Graham Taylor: "Who the heck is Rowell?? Raul doesn't rhyme with "trowel", it's Ra-ooool - rhyming with pa-oool, which, incidentally, is not how you pronounce Puyol.

OK - Spain the first through - will Argentina be the second? Hang on there boys - don't score til I'm ready - have lunch to make!
