Brazil v China

Saturday 8th June 2002 12.30 BST, Seogwipo

Brazil 4 China 0
Carlos 15, Rivaldo 31, Ronaldinho (pen) 45, Ronaldo 55

the Chinese try to block Roberto Carlos's free-kick, in vain (I chopped off Carlos! :)

D'uh!! This really was a shame for Mr Wu and his mates; the result really does not do justice to their efforts. I thought the Chinese were splendid and I was praying they'd get a goal as they really deserved one. After Flopsy had added to Mopsy, Carlos (free kick, which the Chinese clapped!!) and Rivaldo's goals, it was time to give up and turn off the sound. The commentary was unbearable. I was disappointed that Rivaldo didn't come in for more stick.

Oh well, the Brazilians are the second team to qualify for the next round, I suppose. I really can't see anything that special about them though.
