Oh, what a torrid night the 4.30am shift with the $3.00 tickets at the G&D, 98103 must've had!!! Whatever happened to the USA? Did they become complacent or something? They were terrible today; absolutely awful. Shellshocked they might've been after conceding 2 goals in the first 5 minutes, but they fell to pieces. They had no shape - no cohesion - no nothing. Even the mighty Joe-Max (100th cap) didn't look as though he might be able to save them - but, fortunately, along came the cavalry in the form of Korea!!!
Poland had made 6 changes to their team. Not certain whether they were even bigger blokes, or whether the shorts had shrunk during the typhoon of the Portugal match - but they seemed to be a bit clipper! Oh, credit to Poland, who were only playing for pride - they did redeem themselves somewhat. Question though - why didn't these players play the other two games?
USA, you were very, very lucky. Let's hope you pull your socks up in time for the gringo match. I don't know what happened to Agoos to cause his injury. It looked like perhaps he was indicating that somebody had thrown a missile from the crowd. Well, whatever, he's had a rather stressful WC so far and could probably do with the rest. Friedel saved another penalty today - so there's another one for the record books!
