An early "spin & win" tour featuring examples from Classes 25, 31, 40 and 50. The tour ran from London Paddington to Crewe where a visit to Crewe works was arranged for the tour participants. The tour was actually formed of two separate trains as the number of bookings taken was very high. The locomotives used on both tours was the same with swaps at Birmingham New Street and Crewe (although we started off with 50001 and 31260, but the "ped" failed before we left Paddington and had to be replaced by 31326, hastily summoned from Old Oak Common). I travelled on train 2.
