The Battle of Culloden by David Morier

On the 16 April, 1746 the last Jacobite rebellion finally ended in defeat on Culloden Moor.  The moor was totally unsuitable for the gallant Highlanders style of warfare and gave a huge advantage to the English with their long range artillery and heavy cavalry.

The 1745 rebellion was initially successful and "Bonnie Prince Charlie" and his troops advanced, undefeated, to within 130 miles of London before returning to Scotland to raise more troops.
