Prince Charles' Farewell to Flora Macdonald

Prince Charles's Farewell to Flora MacDonald by George W. Joy

Prince Charles Edward Stuart, "Bonnie Prince Charlie" bids farewell to Flora MacDonald on 1 July 1746 on the Isle of Skye.

Flora had helped the young Prince escape to Skye after the battle of Culloden.

They evaded English troops, in what was one of the greatest manhunts in history, by disguising the Prince as Flora's maid.
