New reports.

Doug is always grateful for new reports, he publishes the up to date Deegam  Report, this lists every new machin stamp, recently issued, along with profiles diagrams and charts, if its Machin orientated then this is where you will find it. Deegam reports are distributed free of charge to members of certain philatelic circles, hey are in fact a supplement to the actual supliment. All booklet panes and their DP numbers are mentioned, along with a diagram of the pane and also the phosphor bands (where applicable).

The deegam notations

If you already own a copy of the deegam handbook, or have read a copy of a Deegam report, you will be familiar with these.

Douglas was a founding member of the GB DSB SC and the GB DSSC and devised the Head types and value types , his notations are used world wide by collectors ,clubs and dealers. If you are a private collector they are a great method of writing up ones collection. The profiles list every aspect of the stamp including Head type, paper/gum, perforation type, printer, phosphor, phosphor variations/error etc and last but not least the deegam specialised catalogue number.

I have already mentioned about his short inset and notched band system in the run up pages. He is also responsible for the system of identifying the actual phosphor and fluorescence (ie A Phos, B phos, AY A2Y AB A2B etc).    Next: Decimal Machins for Sale
