| INTRODUCTION

Below are links to some sites mentioned on my home pages, or to sites I have found especially helpful. (These links take you out of this site.)
University of
Portsmouth
: the
University where I recently completed an MSc in Information Systems - go and
see what else they have on offer!
Middlesex
University
: the
University where I studied Graphic Design and
Scientific Illustration.
Jersey: the Channel Island where I was born and raised! These links (in no particular order) lead to sites about this friendly island with a French flavour.
States of Jersey
- official site of Jersey's "governing body". Contains sections on States Government, Business & Finance, The Community, Sport & Leisure, Tourism & Weather and Heritage. Not the best-designed site in the world, but it's a starting point!
Jersey Tourist Information
- what to do and see, where to stay, how to get there, general information, media centre, contacts & brochures, search & index, useful links. There are a couple of nice "photo gallery" pages, one showing general scenes of the island, and another showing off the island's beautiful beaches. For general information about the island, there is an interesting fact sheet.
La Société Jersiaise
- a well-supported Society which promotes conservation and preservation in the island, the study of history, archaeology, natural history, language and other aspects of interest in Jersey. Has a section devoted to family history, if you want to trace relatives in the island.
Jersey Meteorological Department
- forecasts for Jersey and Guernsey, updated four times daily.
The Jersey Evening Post Online
- snippets from Jersey's daily newspaper, so you can catch up on some of the news from "back home" no matter where you are in the world.
Jersey Museums Service
- addresses and information on the island's heritage sites and museums, including a diary of events.
JerseyWeb
- established in November 1995, this site bills itself as "the most comprehensive Jersey website". Contains many pages of information on hotels, employment, living accomodation, a business directory, finance, historical information, attractions and eating places. A good starting point if you're thinking of a stay in Jersey. Another nice "photo-gallery" with pictures of the island.
Jersey Island
- virtual communities based on the parishes of St Aubin, St Helier, St Brelade and Gorey. Each is styled in similar fashion, with links for Where to Stay, Where to Eat and Drink, and a section on walks, history, sights, etc. Not a great deal of content, with some of the history sections still "under construction", although there is an interesting page on the restoration of the Fisherman's Chapel at St Brelade.
Island Imaging
- a commercial site selling images of the Channel Islands from another virtual Photo Gallery - but you can look for free!
