Jennifer Yates’ work is characterised by strong shapes with a delicate working of surfaces that produce subtle colours. She explores fully the technique of fusing, which consists of the silver being heated until the surface begins to shimmer. The end result is always unexpected and individual.  The pieces are then often highlighted with gold embellishments and beautiful beads. This gives her work not only a visual beauty but also a wonderful tactile quality.
