Buses, Trains

◄ Town Food ►

There were two main buses that we used to use - the number 70, Oxhill Road bus which went from the terminus, near to our house to the city centre and the number 11, Outer Circle bus. We used to get the Outer Circle bus to Perry Barr, about two or three miles away, to see my aunt who lived there. There were also shops at Perry Barr and a cinema. The buses ran every ten minutes or so.

We did not use trains very much except for holidays and the occasional school outing. The nearest station was about a mile and a half away on the other side of the main road. I remember the steam trains and the long tunnel under the centre of Birmingham leading to Snow Hill station.
