Where are we From ?

Our Fitzjohn ancestors came from Normandy with the 1066 invasion. The Norman's themselves came from Scandinavia These North men were given land in Northern France, Which came to be known as Normandy. At the beginning of the tenth century the French King Charles the simple gave up lands to the Viking chief called Rollo. He called the land Northmannia.

These norsemen intermarried with the French, became Christian and evolved into the Normans we are familiar with.
