Please note that we do not include minutes of our meetings.  The relevant information is given below and on our ACTIONS pages – click here

The Willows, Marshmoor Lane, Welham Green.  Planning permission has been granted for the change of use to a single dwelling house.

RVC, Hawkshead Lane.   Planning permission has been granted for additional car parking now that the RVC have deleted the proposed car park alongside the sports field on the south side of the lane.

Cherry Dell, Hawkshead Lane.  Planning permission has been granted for a turning head on the south side of the lane just west of the end house.  When the flood gates are closed on Warrengate Road this turning head will be opened to enable vehicles heading west to turn round instead of the hazardous reversing up the lane.

Land at 1-12 Green Close, Brookmans Park.  The application for demolition and erection of 24 flats has been withdrawn.

Land at Green Close.  An application for 14 flats on the triangle of land between Green Close and Station Road has been refused.  An appeal has been lodged, to be decided by written representations.

4 Swanland Road, North Mymms.  An application to replace a shed with an annexe has been refused.

High Trees, Leggatts Park, Gt North Rd, Little Heath.  An application has been approved to build a replacement house and demolish the existing one within 3 months of moving into the new house.  We had suggested a one month period.

17 Great North Road, Brookmans Park.  New front gates.  It was refused on 31 Oct 2008.

72 Bell Lane, Bell Bar.  Demolish and erect new dwelling.  We objected and it was refused permission.

Tanum Farm, Hawkshead Road, Little Heath.    An appeal ahs been upheld to retain the dwelling since the appellant was able to satisfy the Planning Inspector that the dwelling had existed for more than 4 years before enforcement action was taken.  It was therefore immune from action.

Cart Lodge, 1 Home Farm Road, North Mymms Park.  An appeal has been dismissed for a double garage.  The Inspector decided it would reduce the openness of the Green Belt.

Land at the rear of 46 Peplins Way.  An appeal was made for the erection of a 2-bed house.  It was dismissed as being cramped and out of character with the area.

East of England Plan.  Herts County Council is taking legal action against the number of houses required in the final version of the Plan for the county.  We have written to the County Council expressing our support for their action.  A review has started aimed at updating the Plan by 2010.

Our 2009 AGM is to be held on 23rd March 2009 at 8pm in the main hall of the United Reformed Church, Brookmans Park.

Michaelmas Lunch.  This was held on 11th October 2008 and was a sell out.

Herts CC Waste Management Plan.  We have had two meetings with the County Council in particular over the possibility of a waste handling facility at New Barnfield, off South Way, between Hatfield and Welham Green.  It is possible that a waste incinerator could be built there.

Bill Rogers.  Bill was one of our founder members in 1976 and only retired from our committee late 2007.  Sadly he passed away in July 2008 and a number of members of our committee attended his funeral.

Linden Lodge, Bulls Lane, Bell Bar and The Firs Stables, Woodside Lane, Bell Bar.  A number of unauthorised activities are taking place on these two sites and we are actively engaged with Welwyn Hatfield Council to rectify the situation.
