The Hillfoots Villages are contained within Clackmannanshire District, the smallest District Council in Scotland, situated in the heart of central Scotland.
Alloa, the county town lies four miles to the south west of the Hillfoots on the north bank of the winding River Forth.
Tillicoultry is situated to the north of the River Forth, about 9 miles east of Stirling in the central belt of Scotland.
It is the largest of the Hillfoots Villages which consist of Menstrie, Alva, Tillicoultry and Dollar, all nestling along the foot of the south face of the massive, striking Ochil Hills.
The south face of the Ochil Hills, viewed here from about 10 miles away at Bannockburn, a couple of miles to the south east of the City of Stirling.
