The Chapels Society is an organisation with a specific interest in nonconformist chapels in the UK.
The Historical Chapels Trust is a conservation organisation in the UK which takes redundant chapels into its ownership care.
Capel is the Chapels Heritage Society, covering all nonconformist chapels in Wales.
The Ecclesiological Society has a site for those interested in Churches and Chapels worldwide of all denominations.
Compton Towers Publishing is the website of Sibyl Phillips a Northamptonshire author whose book Glorious Hope Women and Evangelical Religion in Kent and Northamptonshire, 1800-1850 has a wealth of information on nonconformity in Creaton, Spratton and Hackleton with references to William Carey and Marianne Farningham. Sibyl also has a blog Church and chapel people, 18th and 19th centuries.
The Strict
Baptist Historical Society has a website that covers resources about the Strict and
Particular Baptists.
The Gospel Standard Publications Trust has a
series of books available and biographies of some of their authors.
Churches that are part of the Baptist Union are represented by the Baptist Historical Society, which
has details of their publications and further links.
Methodist Archives at the
John Rylands Library, Manchester
Methodism in Cambridgeshire is
covered in an excellent page by Martin Edwards. It includes some parishes that were
originally in Northamptonshire and some general information and links about researching in
Methodist archives.
Quaker Family
History Society - Northamptonshire contains details of Quaker resources relating to
the county.
Arthur Hopkin's has a page of records extracted from the
Northamptonshire Quaker meetings.
Unitarian Historical Society
Some early Baptist chapels became Unitarian during the late 18th Century.
There is also a site with historical information relating to
English General Baptists.
Cliff
Baughen's site for the Boffin family and variants. Cliff's family history
homepage has some useful Boffin links. Cliff also maintains a Baughen e-mail Mailing
list which you can subscribe to.
Alan Clarke's site has an index to the
1841 and 1871 census of Northampton and a comprehensive Marriage Index for the
whole of Northamptonshire.
John Durrant's site includes some
Northamptonshire resources including the 1891 Irthlingborough Census.
Norman Tew's site has an
index to the inhabitants of Stoke Bruerne from 1700 - 1900. He has also
reconstructed many of the families.
