Guildford Folk Dancers

Guildford Folk Dancers is a club affiliated to the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) and has been in existence for fifty four years.  Dances from the British Isles and North America are held in a friendly social atmosphere.

New dancers as well as musicians are very welcome.  It's not necessary to come with a partner and no previous experience required.  The dances are called so beginners find them easy to follow.

There is often live music with Fred Grimshaw on accordion, recorded music on other evenings.

If you enjoyed watching 'Playford' style dances seen in the television series 'Pride and Prejudice' then come along  and dance  them,  we'll teach you.  Other formations regularly danced at our club include, English/
American squares, duple/triple minor longways, becket, sicillian and circle sets (including contra's) etc.

Club dances are usually held on Thursday evenings - 4th week is held on Wednesday,  8.OOpm to 10.l5pm at Jacobs Well Village Hall, Guildford, Surrey GU4 7PD
