01. The Archbishop - 4 Couple Longways
A1 ( 1 - 2) 1st man cast down into second place while, 4th women casts up into third place,
2nd man moves up, 3rd women down.
( 3 - 4) 1st man and 4th women set to each other.
( 5 - 8) 1st man and 4th woman two hand turn once around.
A2 ( 1 - 2) 1st woman cast down into second place while, 4th man cast up into third place,
2nd woman moves up, 3rd man down.
( 3 - 4) 1st woman and 4th man set to each other.
( 5 - 8) 1st woman and 4th man two hand turn once around.
B1 ( 1 - 2) Middle couples face nearest end couple - partners take inside hands
and change places with opposite, middle couples make an arch.
( 3 - 4) All turn in ½ way and return to place, new middle couples again make an arch.

A1 ( 1 - 8) 1st man cast down, 2nd lady cast up, 1st man and 2nd lady half figure 8
into each others place passing left shoulders in the middle (improper).
A2 ( 1 - 8) 1st lady cast down, 2nd man cast up, 1st lady and 2nd man half figure 8
into each others place passing right shoulders in the middle (improper).

A2 ( 1 - 4) New middles ½ ladies chain across, while, the ends move in to form a square.
( 5 - 8) All four ladies chain ½ way.
B1 ( 1 - 4) New head ladies flutter wheel
( 5 - 8) All circle eight ½ way.
B2 ( 1 - 4) New heads lead in and with opposite, lead out through the sides and cast round one.

A1 ( 1 - 4) In fours on the end right hand star.

pass through and stay facing out - then 2nd corners pass through as soon as they can.

20. Shepherd's Delight - 3 Couple Longways
A1 ( 1 - 8) 1st couple give two hands and with 1st man moving backwards, he draws his partner
round 2nd man, across the set, round 3rd lady and up the centre of the set -
finishing in facing lines of three, 1st man between 2nd couple and 1st lady between 3rd couple.
A2 ( 1 - 4) Lines of three fall back and come forward.
( 5 - 8) Join hands and circle six until all improper and facing a new partner.
B1 ( 1 - 4) Middle couple two hand turn ½ way and chasse up between top couple who simultaneously
chasse down on the outside.
( 5 - 8) New middle couple two hand turn ½ way and chasse down, bottom couple chasse up on
the outside.
B2 ( 1 - 4) New middle couple two hand turn ½ way and cast to the bottom of set - bottom couple lead up.
( 5 - 8) All two hand turn new partners once round.

A1 ( 1 - 4) 1st couple cross over right shoulder and dance down the outside of the set
giving inside hands to 2nd couple who face out and turn them round.
( 5 - 8) 1st couple cross over left shoulder and dance down the outside of the set
giving inside hands to 3rd couple who face out and turn them round.
( 9 -16) 1st couple repeat from the bottom of the set back to place.
A2 ( 1 - 8) 1st & 2nd men set right and left to 2nd & 3rd women, turn single right away
then circle left for four.
( 9 -16) 1st & 2nd women set right and left to 2nd & 3rd men, turn single right away
then circle left for four.
B1 ( 1 - 8) 1st couple slip down the middle and back.

( 5 - 8) All chasse 2 steps to the left and back moving into one large ring,
men facing out with partners on their left.
B1 ( 1 - 4) All join hands and balance forward and back, turn partner ½ way with left hand.
( 5 - 8) Balance forward and back, turn 2nd lady ½ way with right hand.
B2 ( 1 - 4) Allemande left 3rd lady.
( 5 - 8) Go back and swing 2nd lady - finish the swing in large circle to start again.
24. Trip to Bavaria - 4 Couple Longways
A1 ( 1 - 4) 2nd and 3rd couples ½ right hand star in the middle then face nearest end, while,
1st and 4th couples cross over giving right hands then face in along the line.
All change on the sides giving left hands.
( 5 - 8) Repeat: Middles star, Ends cross then Change on the side.

28. Wibsey Roundabout - Round for 5 Couples
A ( 1 - 2) Men go forward a double into the middle of the circle.
( 3 - 4) Ladies go forward a double, while, the men fall back.
( 5 - 6) Men go forward again and turn ½ way to the right, while, ladies fall back.
( 7-12) Men give give right hand to partner, turn ¾'s back to place, then go directly
into three changes of rights and lefts (men going counter clockwise),
right to partner, left to the next, right to the next, then...
(13-16) Give left to the next and turn once around.
B ( 1 - 4) Ladies right hands across once around, back to places.
( 5 - 8) All back to back with current partner.
( 9-12) Making one large ring,
all into the middle and fall back.
(13-16) Face current partner, pass by the right, and two-hand turn the next.
Progression: 1M+2L - 2M+3L - 3M+4L - 4M+5L - 5M+1L Clockwise Numbering

29. Winter Solstice - 4 Couple Square Set + 5th couple in middle facing up
(clockwise "Playford" numbering)
A1 ( 1 - 8) Heads with middle couple Grimstock hey,
while, the sides side (over and back "Sharp" style), then set & turn single.
A2 ( 1 - 8) Middle couple separate to make two reels of 3 with the sides,
while, the heads side, then set & turn single.
B1 ( 1 - 8) Grand Square: Middle couple face partner, fall back a double, face up and fall
back a double, move in to meet partner, then lead back up to middle place.
meanwhile, the rest of the dancers dance a normal grand square i.e.
The heads lead to middle, fall back with opposites to side places, face opposites
and fall back, then move forward to meet partners in original head places,
while, the sides face, fall back from partner, move forward to meet opposites
in head positions, lead to middle, then fall back with partner to original side places.
B2 ( 1 - 8) Middle couple half promenade passing left shoulders with 1st couple, who in turn
go left and half promenade with 2nd couple, who in turn half promenade with
3rd couple, who finally half promenade with 4th couple.
Progression: 5-1-2-3 with 4 in the middle Repeat 4 times.
J To Print a single dance from this Web-Page:
(a) Select and highlight all of the required dance using your mouse.
(b) Click File
(c) Click Print...
(d) Click Selection (in the Print range option box)
(e) Click OK
J To Print dances without splitting across pages:
(a) Select and Highlight all text by pressing Ctrl + A keys together then release both,
or use your mouse.
(b) Copy text into memory by pressing Ctrl + C keys together then release both.
(c) Open Windows "Wordpad" text editor (or one of your choice).
(d) Paste text from memory by pressing Ctrl + V keys together, then release both.
(e) Click File
( f) Click Page Set up...
(g) Click Portrait in the orientation box
(h) Enter 10mm (or 0.5") in Left Right Top & Bottom margin boxes.
( i) Click OK
( j) Scroll down through your dance notations, starting from the top of the document,
insert a page break by pressing Ctrl + Return at the beginning of all dances that
spill over onto next page.
(k) Save the edited document.
( l) Click File
(m) Click Print...
(n) Enter your desired page numbers, Pages from: ? to: ? or Click All
in the Print range option box.
(o) Click OK
