Ashford Folk Dancers Contra Dance Group Ashford Folk Dancers hold contra dances in the afternoon on (usually) the second Sunday of the month.  They are held in Englefield Green, a short distance from M25 Junction 13, off the A30 just past Egham. Contra dancing, like folk dancing, is a form of social dancing.  It is lively dancing and open to men and women of all age groups and it is not necessary to come with a partner.  Previous experience of dances is not a prerequisite as all dances are walked through first. If you have never done contra dancing, then view sample of a DVD on dance moves.  You can get more details of contra dance figures.  Do not be put off by the description of the figures.  Once demonstrated, they will appear a lot simpler to do.  So come along and enjoy yourself and make some new friends.
