Association of British Scrabble Players
The purpose of the Association of British Scrabble Players (ABSP) is to promote Matchplay Scrabble tournaments. Members of the ABSP vary in strength from the best in the UK to players who enjoy the tournaments as social occasions. We organise a number of events and provide support for the organisers of other events, and we maintain a ratings system which gives an accurate indication of the relative strengths of all regular Tournament players.
Members of the ABSP receive a Newsletter, The Last Word, every two months, giving details of forthcoming tournaments, with entry forms for some events enclosed. The Newsletter features articles of interest to Scrabble enthusiasts. APSP members also receive an annual handbook, and benefit from substantial reductions in the cost of entering most tournaments.
