DAILY ACTIVITIES
Morning lessons are
from 9.00am - 1.00pm Monday - Friday, with a 25min
break at 10.45am. Children have a drink and a snack
and can relax or enjoy various indoor or outdoor
activities
Monday and Thursday
afternoons are spent enjoying informal project
and/or art sessions. These activities are usually
the most popular of our programme! Project titles
include "History of London", "Our Local Area", "My
Home Town", "Animals", "Birds", Multi-cultural
Britain", "The Royal Family" and many more. Art
sessions have included collage, pottery, painting,
clay modelling, making a small garden, pastels and
watercolours, "Trying out modern art", jewellery
making and papier-mâché. Art lessons are used to
encourage children to speak and use their English in
a creative way.
Wednesday afternoon is
for a local sightseeing excursion. These trips may
include museums, castles, places of interest in
Brighton, the zoo and shopping.
Children return to
their host families at 4 o’clock where they can join
in all normal family activities. We also set 30 -
60mins homework per night which the host family
supervises.
